Do You Feel Stuck Just Short of the Life You Want?
Maybe you're not in crisis, exactly. You're functioning, showing up, getting through your days. But something feels flat, or stalled, or quietly unsatisfying -- a nagging sense that you're capable of more aliveness, more confidence, more direction than you're currently living. Maybe you're facing a major life transition -- a career change, a move, an empty nest, a new decade -- and you don't just want to survive it, you want to meet it intentionally. Maybe you know exactly what you want to change and simply haven't found the structure, accountability, or self-belief to make it happen.
This is where life coaching often comes in. Unlike therapy, which frequently focuses on healing past pain, life coaching is oriented toward where you're going: building the skills, mindset, and momentum to close the gap between the life you have and the one you actually want.
When You Want Movement, Not Just Insight
Some people come to coaching already having done deep inner work and simply wanting a structured partner for forward motion -- someone to help translate insight into action. Life skills coaching in particular focuses on the practical, everyday capacities -- communication, organization, boundary-setting, decision-making -- that turn intention into a different daily life.
When Confidence Is the Missing Piece
For others, the barrier isn't knowing what to do, but believing they're capable of doing it. Confidence coaching addresses this directly, helping you build a felt sense of capability and competence, so you can act with conviction grounded in a belief in your abilities.
With the right personal coach, you can build real, sustainable momentum toward the life you're imagining.

Wanting More From Your Life Doesn't Mean Something Is Wrong
There's a common misconception that if you're not in crisis, there is no reason to seek support. But wanting more -- more purpose, more confidence, more aliveness -- is one of the most human desires there is, and life coaching exists precisely for people who are functioning but not yet flourishing.
Major life transitions in particular tend to surface this kind of longing. Career changes, relationship shifts, parenthood, retirement, and other significant turning points ask us to reconsider who we are and what we want, often without a clear roadmap. Life transition coaching exists because these passages, while common, can still feel disorienting without support -- and because navigating them intentionally tends to produce far better outcomes than simply enduring them.
The good news is that with a holistic life coach who understands both the practical and the psychological sides of change, you can move through these transitions -- or simply toward a life you want more of -- with far more clarity and far less flailing. Life coaching can help turn transitions into transformations.
A Holistic Approach to Life Coaching
Working With the Whole Person
As a licensed therapist who also offers life coaching, I bring a holistic lens to this work that goes beyond goal-setting alone. My background in sociology means I understand that the circumstances impeding change are shaped by broader factors than your personal mindset. These include your relationships, your history, and the systems and pressures around you. Holistic life coaching in my practice takes all of this into account, rather than treating you as a set of goals disconnected from the rest of your life.
Building Skills and Self-Belief Together
In our work together, we'll clarify what you actually want -- which is often less obvious than it sounds, especially if you've spent years meeting other people's expectations -- and build a realistic, personalized plan to get there. This often includes life skills coaching around communication, boundaries, time and energy management, and decision-making, paired with the deeper work of examining the beliefs and old patterns that have kept you small or living a life defined by external demands. For clients whose stuckness is rooted in self-doubt, confidence coaching becomes a central thread, helping you build genuine self-trust through action, not just affirmation.
I also draw on Internal Family Systems in this work, since many of us have parts that resist change even when we consciously want it -- a part that's scared of failure, a part attached to the identity of "stuck," a part that doesn't believe it deserves more. Understanding and working with these parts, rather than pushing through them by force, tends to create change that actually lasts. As your life coach, my role is part strategist, part accountability partner, and part guide through whatever internal resistance shows up along the way.
Real Accountability, Without Shame
Many people have tried to make changes on their own -- a new habit, a bolder decision, a different way of showing up -- and quietly given up when the initial motivation faded. That's not a personal failing; it's what happens without real structure and support. As your personal coach, I help you build accountability that's honest but not punishing, checking in on the commitments you've made to yourself and helping you understand what got in the way when things don't go as planned. Confidence, in my experience, is built far more through this kind of repeated, supported action than through any single insight or pep talk.
Questions You May Have About Life Coaching
-
Therapy often focuses on healing and processing the past; personal coaching is more future- and action-oriented, focused on building skills, momentum, and confidence toward specific goals. Many clients benefit from both, sometimes at different points in their lives.
-
That's a common and completely workable starting point. Much of the early work with a life transitions coach involves clarifying what you actually want, separate from what you think you should want. As your personal coach, I encourage you to allow yourself to dream, to imagine new possibilities.
-
This is normal, and it's part of why having a personal coach helps -- I'll help you understand what's underneath the dip in motivation and adjust the plan, rather than treating it as failure.
